| CDVI Group Launches Digitag LRSunday, 15 February 2009 CDVI Group Launches Digitag LR A new long range reader and tag system has been released by the CDVI Group. The Digitag LR is ideally suited for use in hospitals, residential homes, car parks, areas of stock movement or simply where the convenience of hands-free access control is preferred. The company says that the range attenuation, together with the ease of installation and the flexibility of being industry compatible has made Digitag LR a leader in this field. With three selectable outputs (including Wiegand 26-bit), the new reader provides a flexible reading range up to 15m, and this can be attenuated downwards to suit local environments or customer requirements. The tags (card version to be released this year) include a clever innovation, which has removed the traditional objections of hands-free active tags (battery life and cost). By providing a changeable battery, the tags do not have a limited life so under normal wear & tear conditions they will provide many years of activity. The ease of installation and attractive pricing are just two of the benefits to the installer and end-user alike. ‘Long range, or hands-free access control has always been recognised as a benefit to the user. Traditionally, costs have prohibited wide use of this technology, but the Digitag LR is set to change that and bring this method of reading within the budgets of users who would not normally have the choice’ says Alan Walker, Managing Director of CDVI (UK). ‘Installers will like this product because the installation is the same as for a standard proximity reader, eliminating labour intensive door portal or road ground loops’ says Alan, ‘Of course the end-users will like it because it allows them the flexibility to provide hands-free vehicle or pedestrian access control within their facility, and all the convenience that goes with it’. | Latest News | | |
